Itosan strikes again!

I've come back to my Dad's to find an email from Japan. Am afraid to say that it contains no comment at all regarding the control surfaces problem and instead it looks like our overseas builder is now thinking of building something.....British.

A few types were mentioned, but in my reply tonight, I stated that all had been built before. The plot thickens.

I did paste part of Rick's post into my original email, so he might contact Mr Piper direct.

But this time he had to build a full DVC in each model too

He probably thinks i am being cheeky but all i want to do is help him to use smotthing groups as his models are otherwise superb renditions of the chosen subjects.

there is nothing wrong with the modelling it's self.

just no smoothing groups.

I think Mr Ito may have the wrong end of the stick whith what is being said here in this thread.

Thanks for the reply.

I've had another email this morning asking me a few questions on what to do next, but still nothing about the smoothing groups. He is very keen to continue building models, but I personally think that he likes the way he builds them and that is final. It was a little struggle trying to get Kazunori to carry on building for FS2004 when FSX was released, so although I will mention it again and say that it wasnt meant in any way harmful (we're all nice blokes here), I dont want to to think that he might stop production again. That is the last thing I would like to see.

How about suggesting some things that have never been done, an Ito model is better than no model at all and he is getting better!

I'm very good at suggesting!! The Balliol, Auster 9 (inc XR240 which wasnt an original version) and the Seamew were all my ideas I'm afraid. I have a lot more, which have winged their way over to Japan. I did send a large package over months ago, but his english is like my Japanese virtually zero and so a lot of what I have is somewhat technical. But hopefully we will see more British types in the future. I for one, would like to see a Vickers Windsor, Hawker Henley or Miles M.20!!!

But then I hanker for the Pilatus P.2 (which is on top of my 'would like to' real list!! (weird or what, I should get out more).

I can understand that ethos, but surely a step towards improving his models should be welcomed (not that I'm one to dictate what he feels like doing)? I know there are many others that would start using his models again if he was to fix the little control surface problem. And if it's such a simple fix...
