There shouldn't be a problem with it flying with the Reds as this has been done with plenty of civil types over the years. Whats more as most (if not all) of the crew are either current or ex RAF, I wouldn't see a problem. As to it leading the display, there are possibly wake effect issues which would need to be taken into consideration, but it would be an fantastic sight.

Somehow missed this post till now!!

Fantastic to see her roaring again.

Garry I know what you mean when you say the size always amazes you. I remember the first time I saw an Avro Vulcan at Duxford. I was a 13 or so year old air cadet and the thing was at least three of me on top of each other off the ground.

Since then this plane has fascinated me. The moment I get info about it flying, guaranteed I'll be there.

Excellent news. Hope the footage is recorded for all to see. And lets hope the CAA have no objections at the last minute.

The old sound waves must have really hammered the chest
Whilst that may be the case with some Garry to me, it hammered my hearing when at Scampton to the extent that I now have high frequency deafness. :-(

But somehow I just cannot find it in me to hold a grudge against the old girls!!

Nigel.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
