Been looking at that Dave, and am impressed to say the least. The night time instrument panel screenshots are wonderful; its one of those things that can close the deal when one's wondering whether to buy it. Haven't got the Starfighter yet, so the money is still burning a hole in my pocket.

Quote: 'great manual (though I'll have to read it unfortunately)'.  Just perfect!

Hi Dave,

It's a funny old model.. typically twitchy making it difficult to trim when compared to a much slower prop or large pax jet but you can get it there or thereabouts :) I've not learned (yet) how to make the AP work to a satisfacory degree but I've not read that part of the manual either (I stopped when I found the bit that stops the flames and smoke happening!)

My personal view is that you'll appreciate this model more than the F104. If you try the 'try before you buy' version.. note that you probably won't get the smoke and flames if you adhere to the correct flap speeds.. eg, 175kts flap 1.. 150kts for landing.. so things won't look half as bad. Here are a couple of shots I took earlier this evening. Takeoff from Scampton to my eventual landing at Yeovilton where I took the Mike Stone Walrus beyond (no shots of that little run) :)

The exterior model has it's faults (texturing faults) but the 2D and sub panels are excellent ;-) Not a great fan of VC's but this one is up there :)

Just a quick note, the 'add on manager' in the task bar can be removed by deleting the dll in the fs9 modules folder. If I remember correctly it doesn't have the most logical title.

Imperator those shots are absolutely stunning!

Thanks Hinch! I think the Alphasim F-104 have for some reason or other undeservedly received some harsh criticism. In my opinion it is a beauty:

Hi Imperator..

Very impressive shots and the model really looks the biz ;-)

Can I ask that you keep screenies to 800x600 please :)

Hi Imperator :)

We're actually looking at screenshot sizes at this very moment and the overwhelming concensus is that we should stick to 800x600. However, your shots are 1024x768 and they're not having the same effect on page size as they would have done on the old version of CBFS (a shot of this size would have caused the entire page to resize and cause the user to have to scroll to read text lines).

Admin/mods.. are you seeing these shots ok too?? This version appears to put the user info 'below' the shots (these are at 1024x768) rather than resize to the right to fit it all in. OK.. it makes the post a little longer (actual length-wise) but I'm seeing 1024x768 fine and with no need to scroll to the right for text.

Hi Dave

I am having to shut down the favorites pane to see all the pic, then it has the info below it

I use the favourites all the time like for instance to keep comming back to the new posts page

Which is more than a nuisance just to see a pic which is after all much bigger than it needs to be.

I think nothing looks worse than a pic crammed across all the width.
