Hope you don't think I was having a go.

the plus side about going through your bank is that, (again rightly or wrongly) people (as a general rule) trust banks. I'm a bit of a synic myself, but usually the way these things look when you use them, is that you (the retailer) has a direct relationship with them (the bank) and they feel secure.

The snag is Banks a a shower of ******** too as they charge a fortune. You guys have to do whats right for you, I was only throughing some suggestions in there based on some reseach that was done last year (albeit in europe)

Thanks Ben, no I wasn't think you were having a go at all. I just figured I'd accidentally misinformed people about the Paymate login procedure, so I wanted to clear that up  That and clarify that we do take Paypal, though at the moment it's on an inidividual basis.

You're right on both accounts in regards to banks. They charge the fees as well as giving some added protection, so its a toss up as to what you want to do.

I guess the reason why I literally love dealing with Paymate is that they are in Sydney, so, semi-local to me. They are solely owned & operated, and they have "people" that we talk to. If there's a problem I pick up the phone & I ring them.

Paypal - well, they're based in the US, they don't have an Australian based office, they're owned by eBay, their exchanges rates are pooh, their fees are higher than anywhere else, and when there's a problem I only get a webform to talk to, or have to phone someone in the US.

I do really appreciate your feedback and I'm constantly going through new scenarios at the moment. I'm going back to the osCommerce site tonight and seeing what mods they have etc...

oscommerce have plenty of Paypal mods available, all with IPN, so should be easy enough to set up

I'd like to just jump in here and say, I've bought four or five Iris products now through the Paymate system. The first time I was quite wary of this service never having heard of it and it took me a week or two to take the plunge (I guess the lure of the model got me in the  end), but I found it very clear to use, has worked flawlessly and in the end is tied to a credit card I can track online. The only thing has been a slight delay due to timezones or weekends, but no real biggy.

As for the EAP I installed this last night and WOW what a beauty, it's a real blast to fly with a nice VC and handles real nice. I worked on the real bird and have been looking forward to this model for months. I'm just dabbling with a repaint effort now as the colour is a little off, but I'm really enjoying it. Do yourself a favour and at least get the Lite version.

Cheers

Absolutely is! Doesn't always work for some reason, but does 95% of the time. If it doesn't work, it's my decision whether to send my REAL credit card details to some random on the internet.

I've been using http://www.entropay.com/ for quite some time and it's a similar system, it's basically a "virtual" VISA card that is yours and yours alone, however rather than having a balance that you pay off at the end of the month you simply load however much money you require onto the card (minus a small surcharge) and then this is taken straight off the card when you make a transaction.
