I don't know if it's worth noting or even labouring this point any more but.. the girl who works for me and pays her BT bill in cash does so at the Post Office, in effect using non-BT staff. I can't see the PO sending BT her 2 x £20 notes (or whatever it is) in a sealed envelope for them to process so BT receive the monies electronically anyway
OK.. in the case of a cheque, some bod will have to open the envelope and process the contents then the cheque will have to be sent to the bank and processed so in this case, the payment is rather more labour intensive but in the case of cash.. I can't see BT's gripe
Because I'm a business and have a business line (ISDN2e).. I have a business manager who regularly phones up trying to flog me something I don't want. I also have a private line (purely for Broadband) so also have a 'private account' manager too and yes.. they're both different and neither speak to one another. This is slightly off track but it does show that BT are their own worst enemy for wasting resources so they could either sack a few telesales/account managers or employ them to process cash/cheque transactions. Either way.. no need for an increase to Joe Public
