I lived in Alexandria in 1947 or thereabouts (first place I went to school...) and all I can remember is sand on the streets and picking oranges off the trees in the school garden for tea........

Although I knew what an aeroplane was by then, and I'd even sat in the cockpit of a Hurricane, I hadn't flown anywhere, let alone over Alex so sadly can't confirm that it looked like that from above. Looks like it would have been fun in a Harvard though.
