That is the only option I have not yet tried, because I quite like real weather. Will give that a go next chance I get, which will probably be next Monday.

Okey doh mate
I use ASN too and have a similar problem which seems more matched to time than anything else. I don't have Concorde so it can't be that!
I bought Aerosoft's GibraltarX a while back and if I've not got much to do.. I often do Culdrose-Gib (or t'other way round). If I do the run in something particularly quick (eg.. in excess of say 320kts in the cruise at FL300).. I can just about do the run without any issues. Sure.. the system is tired at the end but it's still running

If I do it in something slower.. say 300kts, the system has hung before reaching Gib.
I can't say that ASN is at fault.. I never wait long enough to find out as I use Task Manager to close down 'FSX - Not Responding'.. it may be the 'known' issue of FSX running out of steam

Others here suffer FSX hanging too. I'm sure Dale has had similar issues when using the TriStar but can't remember now if he uses ASN.
I did the run recently in the Nimrod with two AI Harriers in company. The weather was horrible off Cornwall so I popped outside to try and get a visual. External textures for all models wouldn't display and having got a reasonable visual.. I went back inside and the panel textures wouldn't load. They came back just before landing but then the Culdrose ground texture went

Having landed and taxied off.. I checked my memory use via Task Manager and I was bouncing perilously close to 4gig. I sat and waited.. looking at the Nimrod from tower view, and eventually.. all the textures loaded.
As real as it gets

With the recent upgrade to the CS737 being discussed on the forum, it got me thinking that I've done nothing with the 707 since buying the pair of them a few months ago.
Now after a few days I've mastered the art of starting the engines and had a few flights getting the feel of things.
Although I miss the 2d panels, in fairness once everything is up and running, they would be there only for show. There is a 2d autopilot and Ive installed a 2d radio stack out of the Dakota. I found it nigh impossible twiddling the frequencies in the vc

Now with the civa installed and tested I think I'm ready for a TR for the B703
Cheers

Well 4 flights completed

No problems other than finding out that leaving the rwy turn off lights on, also keep landing lights as true

Not sure if its a keeper though yet. Its a faff getting started in the sim When the a/c loads it installs its own default flight plan (Seattle to somewhere) Its got something to do with the Doppler nav system So it means loading the correct plan once the sim is running proper The model doesn't take kindly to jumping round different windows, it seems to switch various thing off, and this morning it got the graphics all flickering

The model systems seem to work ok but twice on approaching Heathrow a touch of speed brakes were required to stop it slipping towards 250knts The speed brakes give an increased rate of decent which I suppose is normal, trouble is the pitch control wheel then fails to operate and the only action is to disengage the ap

OK mate.. I'll nip over and issue full ratings for them. Nice routes although they're longhaul.
