Having got DaveG's Auster working a treat in v4 I took a look out the window.... "Hmmm, nice sunny day", I thought, "a good day for some more flying" so I decided to have my first go with the Aerosoft Lightning in v4. It installed no problems and read this to get the sound working...

http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/to ... 24-p3d-v4/

Then I loaded up the sim at my almost-local military airfield of Boscombe Down, used real-world weather via OpusFSI, kicked the tires and lit the fires!

The dynamic reflections are awesome! A static shot will never do it justice!

After that I went inside the Rift CV1, so no more screenshots, but all I can say is Holly Cow, Batman! The ride in the Lightning in P3D4 on a sunny day inside VR is like nothing else...

I now have the IRIS Vulcan working in v4 too!

I had to revise the start procedure... I was out of practice! :$

In order to get her to work in v4 you have to replace the B2.air files (one each for the 3 variants) with this one:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/a ... 1499104102

My first flight was out of Boscombe Down again, with real world weather courtesy of OpusFSI and using the Rift CV1 in VR. I shot a long approach from just north of Thruxton for a touch-and-go and then a much shorter curved "fighter approach", for which the VR was a huge help!

The last shot, in the haze, is over Salisbury. You can just make out the cathedral behind the cockpit.

Having REX sky and cloud textures in v4 will be the icing on the cake with this kind of stuff!

I am VERY disappointed that Lockheed does not offer upgrade price or free upgrade for P3D V3.4 owners!! I just bought it 3 months ago for God's sake!! In other words I have to buy ANOTHER copy of P3D if I want version 4.

That is DOUBLE insult from Lockheed and Photobucket against me!

Regards,

Aharon

Nothing new Aharon, its always been that way since V1 I'm afraid.

Indeed, it is nothing new. Also, despite my wallet being lighter every time I upgrade I feel at ease with this because I see it as money spent on continued development (at least that is what I keep telling myself, so I can sleep at night!)

I think there's something like a 90 day money back offer so depending on how close to three months you actually are that might be an option.

Sounds like a TacPac Hunter is required to shoot it down. How did such an ugly aircraft become popular. 😤

I wouldn't say it's ugly. Boring, yes.
Confession time, I do own the NGX and actually enjoy flying it. :worried: I'll get my coat.....
