John,
Selected flight (LEZL - EGBB). Downloaded latest client OK. When I start the client and input my username/password I get the "Flynet has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. Have (I hope) deleted all traces of previous client - no change.

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Johnny
I've not seen that one yet either here or reported at FSA. When it comes up with the windows box, can you look at the detail page and see what application is failing.
The original client put 2 ini's in your C:\Windows directory.. fsairlines.ini plus another. Have a look to see if these are still present and if they are, delete them.

Hi Johnny,
That sounds very much like a local problem, probably along the lines of a firewall or virus scanner blocking the app from connecting to the internet. Can you let us know which OS, Service Pack, Sim, AntiVirus and Firewall you are using?

Dave, Ben,
Nowt in the C/Windows folder.
Trend Micro is firewall. It usually provides a popup window advising of activity it has blocked. Previous versions of the client have worked fine.
Just tried again; still no good.

Hi Johny,
i'm also using trend and it will block the client. Infact, its clever enough to see that each different version of the client is different and prompt everytime the fsairline.exe is changed. As a test I set mt trend firewall to block FSA and I get the behavior your describing. Might be worth trying it with the firewall disabled for a minute, just to see if the behavior is different?

Ben,
Tried it with Trend disabled. Same message "FSAirlines.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.."
The old client still gives access OK, but will not show the booked flight.

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Johnny..
Did you put the new client and associated bits into a new directory?? The old client (as in FlyNET) is completely inactive now and I don't think any of the FSA clients prior to v1.0.3 will work either. It'll spit out a message saying that you need a new client version. Clutching at straws here as I don't have trend AV and am running WinXP SP2 with FS9.1 without problems.
Sri I can't be of more help at the mo.

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Johnny,
Just a thought, I wonder if your client has corrupted somehow. Delete everything in the folder where you keep your current client, download a fresh version, place the .exe and the sound folder into your client folder and try again.
Regards
John

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Please also be aware that the client requires a specific version of the .NET framework. Be sure to have that installed as well.
