Well done George,
You're really raising the bar for us, and giving so much inspiration, my head's spinning, and it's only 2nd January!
Zoomed in on Dave's back yard, and spotted this:
Customised litter!

I've populated my locale with a few houses to define the area (the wrong houses but they'll do.. not a white one amongst em yet either

) and am wondering how far I can take it before the pc grinds to a halt. So far, my FR's aren't dropping but I could change that easily enough

Dave, ModelConverterX will create your thumbnails. Simply drag and drop your library bgl onto MCX (you may have to tell MCX where the textures are if not in the library folder) and click on Object Report (text icon top right in middle menu bar). It will save an HTML file and a named image folder in the library's folder. Dump the HTML and place the images in your thumbnail folder. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Another one for George
If I want to exclude some of the photo areas around the airfield, should I follow the same procedure as I did for the water mask? The satellite images show a lot of developed areas that I want to revert back to generic grass. Am I right in thinking that if I modify the mask I did earlier, and then create a terrain polygon for the same area, the terrain polygon will show through? (sorry, that's a bit wordy isn't it

)

If you make the blend mask black, the photo textures will be replaced by the underlying landclass.
Alternatively, you could keep the blend mask and overpaint the original bmp.

Thanks George (again) I'll try both and see what works best. Making some progress on the Hangers too

I use the "clone" tool in PSP to overpaint bmps.

Just tried the clone in GIMP and while it might take a while it looks like a much better way of doing it! Thanks!
Found a chap on one of the local history forums who served with the RN at Sydenham He reckons there are 4 or so T2 hangers and Bellmans amongst others. He was thinking that the one in the background of the Bulldog picture might be a modified T1?
He's pointed me in the direction of some FS documents in the National Archives which are PDF's detailing the Bellmans and T2 Hangers including construction and maintenance and where they were built!
I might need to repaint some of Ted's models though as the colours are wrong
