Ahh.. good one TM

Shots in that livery are few and far between. Quite a few of her with different equipment fits wearing all white and jam-sandwich stripe but I've only seen 1 wearing that livery. Did you sit up front in that Tony or was your gear in the cabin? The model has an observers monitor in the front with an alternating set of b&w camera shots  Very clever

Unfortunately, the airfile on the ND AS350 is a complete load of rot.. so much so that reading various blogs online, it seems many folk have asked for their money back :-O I didn't read them before I bought it last year 8) I use a different airfile :|

Was gonna try the white livery.. might give that one a shot too ;)

Cheers mate

We worked both front and rear Dave, camera in the front command and control in the rear. That livery was to replace the horrid jam sandwich one.

Thanks Tony

Yes.. it looks more 'mod' than the rather plain all white/jam sandwich liver  I've found a couple more shots so it might be a goer. That said.. since watching the 1-11 soundfile vid this morning, I've had nothing but BSOD's so I'm not sure how far I'll get with any more painting :-O I don't think it was the soundfile link that did it although windows chucked up an error in MS Malware after the first event. The only new thing loaded has been a Java update yesterday and the pc wasn't switched off until last night. I'm suspicious that since the restart this morning, that update has taken hold and spits out any explorer browser be it IE or windows. In desparation, I've been into Safe Mode and gone back to Wed using system restore. So far.. so good. Java has just popped up and told me there's an update. It can whistle  Yesterday's was 30-something.. 35.. 39.. can't remember now but I'm not going there again :|

Passed the shortlisting process :)

Two day assessment now before they even allow me near an aircraft for a flight test. I'm not a nervous character but I'll admit to wanting to pass this enough to be twitching a bit!

Well done so far Rob

I can understand your nervousness.. just work on the assumption that 'nerves' are good ;)

Result! So far. Good luck. Do they give you any clue as to what sort of stuff you should be researching and/or supplying any reading material prior to the assesment?

Being too keen can sometimes be tricky and counter -productive. If I can relate 2 instances. I had a colleague, ex Blues & Royals, obviously keen horseman, instructor, had even represented the army in the Royal Tournament at Earl's Ct. Good thief taker. Wanted to get into the Met's Mounted Division. Took him 3 applications, Met didn't like the way the Army rode horses :dunno: . Another colleague ex 2 Para and firearms instructor, Falklands vet, wanted PT17 (in those days it was D11 the firearms branch) terrifyingly fit, used to do those three Peak things. Refused multiple times, but eventually got it. Again a dislike of Army techniques which is understandable but some of the people they accepted made me worry & wonder.
Mostly with these elitist postings, it's a case of If you face fits. In the Met a lot went on the "handshake". :OB:
Good luck

Thanks guys.

They did Alex, I'm currently sat brushing up on my map reading skills!

Your post shows some good examples. It was well known that, before it was sadly disbanded, our mounted section much preferred to recruit people with no riding experience at all so they could mould them to their style. Always put me off as ex Mrs Otter owned a horse and I have far too many bad riding habits!
