Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Simon,
I wouldn't bother using GPS for ground speed. As a test, bring the info bar up (Ctl + z) and try it. A pound to a penny they give different readings. Flynet always took its readings which matched the information displayed in this bar.

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
The "Ctrl-Z" shows airspeed, not ground speed an FlyNET and FSAirlines both use ground speed to determine overspeed taxi penalties. I just took off and got a taxi penalty on takeoff and a failure to recognize takeoff until the aircraft was already airborne.
I have reported this to Claudio to be looked into as it seems that it's still not completely and correctly detecting this state and causing issues. I was using the new client, so there's something not quite right yet.

Thanks for that Chris,
I guess its maybe because I'm not using RW weather. Going to book a flight now and see what the story is.

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Chaps, all went well until FS had a fatal error as I approached the gate. Aw well, never mind.
I did notice something however, and I wonder if this is giving Chris and Simon their problem which is supposedly fixed. With version 100 the fsairlines.ini file was in C:\windows
Before installing version 102 of the client I deleted these files (there were 2 fsairlines.ini and fsairlines_report.ini)
I run fsairlines from a separate folder and I notived when I went back in to re launch the client the fsairlines.ini file is now in the same folder as the fsairlines.exe file.
It might be worth you guys deleting the ini file from C:\windows and re running the client. I'm wondering is it possibly still picking up your old c:\windows ini file?

Hi Guy's..
I have a feeling John mentioned this some days ago. Having just looked in my c:\windows.. I have NO fsairlines files so yes.. if you have any there.. delete them. They'll sit in your recycle bin anyway ;-)
Simon.. stby for PM

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Chaps been thinking about this speeding after takeoff thing. Two things spring to mind. Tricycle aircraft, Simon was in the Lanc and Dave was in the Viking. But more so, the airport and if any, what addon scenery is used. I know FSA (and flynet) can't tell when your on the runway, but it can tell when you leave the ground, so what if it thinks your on the ground when your in the air?
To try and get to the bottom of this could anyone who has experienced this complete the following which I'll put into a table and we can look for something common.
OS, OS SP, Sim Version, Client Version, Airport, Aircraft, Addon scenery, weather,Comments

Re: FSAirlines Beta Bugs
Hi Ben..
I've flown the Viking, Vanguard, 1-11 and Trident 2 since the release version was published and the only aircraft I've had it happen in was the Trident after purposely extending the takeoff run to longer than 50seconds. However.. I've since tried again and it didn't bloody happen :brick: There was obviously a bug early on as Claudio had programmed it for IAS not groundspeed. There are still problems with it, I'm sure but what exactly I've no idea. You can (in theory) takeoff from anywhere at an airport.. the important thing being that you are within the geographical boundary of the airport, not necessarily on the runway. I'll test this out this evening by leaping over to Liverpool and taking a Rapide off from the taxiway.. not too difficult to do in the Rapide but it will show if the runway is important ;-)
