She was retired in '89 having served for over 31years amassing 10,200hrs. Anyone know what happened to it??

I know this is waking up an old post but I knew that bird it is the DH114 CC.4 that was the Admiral's Barge. She required extensive under fuselage skin replacement from the toilet area forward to close to the main spar due to 'leaks' in the back - if you ken what I mean.

I fitted fishery protection mods in her later and other work going up in her over the channel for a CofG and handling test flight, smack into a thunderstorm - tremendous fun turning on two engines and power stalls on all four at once! There is a mission for your flight sim.

She's owned now by Bud Rude of Spanaway, WA, my former boss. Got to see her once but never got to go up in her as they flew her out to Washington from Ohio that year (2004). The guy maintaining her flew Convair 240s for Bud's son (Noel) at Air Tahoma, flew a PBY for Bud at Flying Fireman, and maintained and flew that beautiful airplane for Bud. It was restored prior to flying over here with it's original interior. It's immaculate inside and out.

I can't wait to fly it in FS myself. :)

I've noticed that a certain Mr. Booker now sports the Heron on his banner. The excitement builds! :excited:

Yes Brian.. testing is going on some. DelP is doing a blinder on the models/paints.. the panel looks a treat (though no views for it yet and a couple of niggles to be worked around if possible) and the FD isn't throwing any surprises at us. Plan is to get the Srs1 right then the Srs2 will be tweaked to match (a bit less drag and 20mph more in the cruise) ;)
Wouldn't be so bold as to even forecast a release date but the momentum is back so it'll be sooner rather than later

I did some close up screenshots to check out some of the detail on Dereks materpiece.

Gives some idea of the amazing level of detail :)
