I didn't know they were doing one.
The collection on my PC is at 4075 songs and 24.05gb at the moment.
I never listen to half of it though!

i think it may be another companies player with windows on it...so maybe unstable, but it does feature bluetooth for song swapping. i know this incorporates limited plays so you would go out and buy the track, but you can guarantee someone will sort that out.
The best high capacity players are from sandisk according to a geeky friend.

I did exactly the same with my 20Gb iPOD, managed to get a spare drive on ebay and rebuilt it - good as new. New drive was only £45

No idea (or interest) in what it is like. Apparently first versions were a lovely (NOT) brown colour.

Ipod - Itunes is a disaster, but only sells well due to marketing. Won't play native MP3 :tuttut:
zune - avoid, like the ipod won't play native MP3's and must use specific software :tuttut:
Iriver - Well made, plays native MP3 without conversion. Can use its own software / win amp / media player/ and a host of others
Creative (all of) - A bit sexier than the Iriver, but with the same software support
Sony - nice players, but like the Ipod / Zune won't support native MP3 and must use sonicstage software (supplied) which is, without doubt the worst software on the planet. I have one... for the only reason that in integrates into my Sony head unit in the car.

Still got my record deck.
It was the reel-to reel tape recorder that went long ago. Have to make do with these new-fangled cassettes now.
