Shame on you Garry, I was of course as fluent in the English language at the age of 4 than I am to day  ... no one would be able to tell the difference.... :-$

But I think I might be able to reveal this without hurting anybody:

My purpose of finding this captain has now changed dramatically after Ian's PM......

That was before I joined, thankfully. I was still working in a factory as a toolmaker. It was nearly two years before I saw the BOAC advert in the London Evening News. They were so short of crew that at the interview they asked me to come back the next day for a medical and uniform fitting. Talk about life changing overnight! If I'd known about naughty Danish boys I might have stuck with toolmaking!

Ian

After studying the signature somewhat more I think the last 4 letters is "list" or "lest"

So

First initial is definitely a "S".

First latter of last-name is either a narrow "A" a narrow "H", a "T" or something completely else..

then comes an "a"
and then either "m" or "sn"
followed by "list", "lisl", "lesl" or "lest".

Aamlist, Aamlest, Aasnlist, Aasnlest
Hamlist, Hamlest, Hasnlist, Hasnlest
Tamlist, Tamlest, Tasnlist, Tasnlest

None of them sound very British to me.....

It's Nigel's sanity that I'm worried about now!!!!!
It's starting to get a bit late for that!! :brick: :brick:
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
