Thanks Ian, the originals are BW and 8 x 10, my crappy scanner and the hosting site combine to make them look a little like a 'box brownie' special.

The QB photos bring back happy memories - I went frequently in the early 60s - My Uncle lived in Slough and was one of the Inspectors at
the RSPCA quartine at Heathrow - The main memories from atop the Queens building are of the sound (incredible) and the smell of burn Avtur -
also there used to be a little kiosk at the far end that sold all sorts of
goodies - the thing that stands out in my mind were those orange drinks in the triangular paper containers ....thanks for the memories as Bob Hope was want to say

We had holidays with relatives in Woking (we new how to live the highlife then), a trip to Heathrow was an esential, every year. My dad *Radio Ham), had an airband radio, so we could here the approach traffic from Woking. Closing the viewing areas was the biggest blow to aviation enthusiasts, I still hate the BAA to this day!

Queen's Building was just for "special occasions". I spent most of the 60's by the fence on the A30 under the 28L approach lights. So if Picture 3 was magnified, you'd probably see me there

Having had a closer look at Trev's pictures, particularly the things in the background, a few things drift back:

Picture 1 shows an Ambassador parked over on "North Side" - it's been a long time since anything parked there.

Picture 5 shows G-ALHJ parked in old BOAC colours.

Picture 6 shows South Side - Dove is probably G-ARFZ that lived at Field's, although there was another one as well. And what is behind the V-Jet's tail?
