No problems installing on Vista here.... but you MUST use the installer. Vista will NOT give you rights to access stuff in the C Drive unless they are explicitly granted in the NTFS permissions settings.

My advice would be to use the installer and then if you wish to modify any of the cfg description etc do it then.

Still not installing TP3

Hi

Thanks for your comments all.

I deleted all the previous downloads, downloaded all afresh from website, extracted files, ran the installer in the correct order and you've guessed it, whilst the message was all installed successfully, there was no show on the models and liveries from TP3.

Thanks for offer Rick, will send address to you as suggested. If you send me your address with cd, I'll send you a cheque to cover your costs band a donation.

Hi Rick

CD must be in the Mail network somewhere as it hasn't arrived here yet.

So you've gone for Vista then even though "please bear in mind i don't have vista as it has more bugs than FSX and is still a beta that you pay for" was something you said not too long ago!

Will confirm here as soon as it lands.

Hi Chris

It's a long story about why i am now in vista.

Blame Nvidia and the lack of effort on the XP driver for the 8000 series cards.

Basically i went to an Nvidia 8800GTX then FSDS3 will no longer work.

the only way it will work is the vista driver which requires vista installed

so you see where i am coming from. :worried:

You should have got the disc by now as i placed it on the sorting table in Ipswich Mail centre as thats where i work.

will do another disc and send tomorrow.

Vista is ok but the security rubbish makes it run so slow even on here.

Regards
Rick

OK thanks, will let you know when one / both arrive!! Will they be like the proverbial London bus?

Agree the security thing is a pain on vista but you sort of get used to it after a while. Don't have problems with slow running (System Dual core 2.13Ghz Processor 2Gb RAM) just the repeated prompts asking me if I'm allowed to do this or that!
