I'm surprised Hinch

I thought you would research all these things before starting

You say in your first post you are adding detail implying that the original base textures are lacking......but it is clear from your finding things out now that you have not researched properly, so you are guessing.

You also say you don't care which model it goes on because the livery is cool....well you should.

Sorry if I sound hard but this is a serious site.....not one for wild guesses just to get the job done.

And notice the warning signs (?) around the cockpit opening are not on 'BCPU. So they need removing.

i started with 3 photos, you cannot see the front of the wing. i'm afraid i was doing this paint for fun, i can see i should fully research things before unertaking these projects - except this isn't a project, it's just a little dab around in some spare time.

no i don't care which model it goes on, as with my dove/devon paint - it's so close it just doesn't matter to me - if it does to you don't download it and wait for the correct model to arrive. i am producing this paint purely for my own satisfaction because i wish to fly it, i upload in case anyone else likes it. i did compare photos the model before starting to make sure it could be done convincingly.

i enjoy flight sim, i try to fly quite realistically with flight plans etc printed off and all that - but take it seriously? no, that's just not for me - i'm rarely in a serious mood, ever, let alone for a little hobby of mine.

anyhoo; i wouldn't release the paint without it being as realistic as i could manage at that time. the wings were speculative, not final, nowt wrong with testing a plane i've never painted before afterall and working as i go along works fine by me. surely there is nothing wrong with my relaxed simming style here, if there is i'll happily move on.

ian, tis something i've already done. i'll put a new piccy up when i've finished sorting the other side and i can put out a full sort of preview.

Quite right there Tonks! It does look kind of weird this new way of writing. Heck I just got used to every body's handwriting was Times New Roman...

Hinch

Not normal to ask for comments and help if it's just a fun thing.

And why ask which tail people prefer if it is a fun thing?

You asked for comments

And you got them

The trick is.......... if the photos you have don't show everything, then you hold and carry on research until you have the reference you need.

Also there is a world of difference betwen saying you are not sure what model to use but since it's a fun thing in this case not too worried...and "I don't care"

i was being melodramatic in the last post - i'm glad you didn't take it too seriously though

i understand where you are coming from don't get me wrong, but i see some pretty rubbish final paints that get nothing but praise despite errors (perhaps i should start being a git). i just found it a little strange that my unfinished paint made you post a very seriously toned remark. it just made me wonder if one of the brilliant aircraft modellers here made something a bit to their imagination (which does happen a fair bit in modelling i see) if they would be criticised - i know it isn't the same situation it was just a thought. i do agree with the don't care point also, i do indeed mean the former.

as for the capitals...meh, i think it derives from me mis-hitting the shift key all the time and now i don't bother. it's not something i think about. lazyness also courtesy of microsoft word who kindly does it for me

back to the subject: NEW PREVIEWS UP TOP!!

Understood Matt

I was just as I saw it ....

I know though it can be difficult to get pics..........sometime you find quite a few pics all of the same side.

Wings are a nightmare

This particular subject should be well covered.........just a case of getting lucky in the search.

Matt

They tell it like it is on this forum! Garry commented on some of my repaints, and I think as a result they were better (within my own limitations  ).

Surely not on this forum  given the members' ability to be blunt and to the point.

Keep going with the Chipmunk repaint - just remember they take things seriously here: lots of :poke:

But as someone said in another thread, there is at least life here

Hi Ian

Yes indeed it is aimed at making it a better.

As to Hinch's rubbish without comment pointed out..a big difference here is that a WIP was shown and comments were ASKED for. (since edited out)

Also the "don't care what model it goes on" is a direct conflict with what this site is about.

BTW Hinch you still need to line up the rudder

the dark lines on the rudder aren't from me, there aren't any dark lines left - i've painted them all out!

edit: you mean the lines suddenly skip a few pixels up don't you...it shall be done!
