Dave that R1 has a turbo fitted and from that video i would guess 220 to 250 BHP but the guy is not giving it everything.

Not at the speeds he was pulling wheelies it won't

My ZX9 is probably quite a few kg heavier too and doesn't come with a turbo as standard
I like Toby's comment that it will wheelie because it has excess torque

Nice to see all those years of education weren't wasted
Btw.. I'd love a go on it but like Rick, I'd not in a T-Shirt :huf:

I note that if the speedo was accurate at one point the guy was doing 160mph-ish! That's just at the point at which he's on the wrong side of the road with the lorry coming in the opposite direction!

Have any of you heard of ghostrider? For some years he has been chased by police all over Europe but never caught. He always films his stunts and has quite a cult following. I believe he has now given up and has been identified as a Swedish rider. There are a lot of his videos around and your heart will be in your mouth. Watch this one where he has a race on public roads with a Swedish race driver in a BMW Z3M Coupe. This is part 1 (5mins). The other parts are shown in the next column if you want to see more.

Rick sent me one a long time ago (I still have it somewhere) of a chappie on an R1 filming himself doing 180ish (if I remember right) and a Hyabusa comes flying past him!!
No matter what you've got.. there's always someone with a little more under their tank

I hadn't taken you for a philosopher, Dave

I think that observation could be used to reflect on many of life's situations!

Ok I could have said it wheelies cos it has a madman riding it? that better?

If was just adding to what someone said ealier about the power (power being velocity x torque

), but its the torque that allows it to do that....
....anyway... it was either that or get in to a debate about "yes its dangerous... but it sure looks like fun"

He doesnt actually seem to be able to keep the front wheel down which is even more scary!
It looks like America so I am suprised that they are even wearing helmets. Or is that the law now?

Its not in America, speed is in Kph and the road signs are wrong for both the USA or Canada.
