Looks very cold there......but there is always something about that low light that can bring out colour and the snowy mountains is a great backdrop

Cool pics...

Peter,
Looks like a nice place to visit. I like Islander livery, I've always thought that airplane looks good. It seems it has seen extensive use allaround the world. Nice pics, thanks for sharing.
regards,
Macs

Thanks UKM
Fascinating scenery
Not much sign of modern life....few cars TV aerials and satellite dishes.
Many of those pics could have been taken 100 years ago
Still looks cold

Thanks Macs,
Yes, I have a rather good version of it in my FS9...In that proper FIGAS livery painted by Mark Beaumont...The aircraft is by Marcel Kuhnt. I also have the FI Scenery "SOUTH ATLANTIC SERIES 1" by JFC Howell.

Peter,
Is that the freeware or payware FI scenery please?
I have installed the freeware (and Mark's repaint) but would appear to have lost Mount Pleasant and the other default airports as a result!

Colin

Colin,
Mine is the payware version and I note this in the readme:-
The installer automatically places files into a folder called "SOUTH ATLANTIC SERIES 1" in your Flight Simulator 9 "Addon Scenery" folder.
This new folder contains the following folders
"South Atlantic Airports" (scenery files)
"Static Objects/Static Objects Library" (scenery object files - please overwrite existing RWY12 files)
"DOCUMENTS" (important document & instruction files)
"BACKUP-FS9_DEFAULT_SCENERY_FILES" (backup default files)
Maybe, yours has that last folder somewhere
Edit...I have just checked that folder and it contains two small files here:-
X:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\SOUTH ATLANTIC SERIES 1\BACKUP-FS9_DEFAULT_SCENERY_FILES\Scenery\Afri\Scenery
They are:-
AB944340.bgl
AP944340.bgl
And two small files here:-
X:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\SOUTH ATLANTIC SERIES 1\BACKUP-FS9_DEFAULT_SCENERY_FILES\Scenery\Same\Scenery
They are:-
AB932500.bgl
AP932500.bgl
You could find these on your FS9 CDs but I will put them in a zip for download or email if you wish

Peter,
Thank you for the reply and your kind offer.
I've rechecked the freeware files and they also include backups, so no need to take you up on it. I'll try replacing the two files you mention (there are others in the list) and see what happens.
Many thanks again
Rgds,
Colin

Tonks wrote:Some great pics Peter... FIGAS is certainly a great way around the island, and they will certainly fly in just about any weather. As a holiday destination the Falklands is great, as long as you don't just want to lie on the beach going pink.
Thanks Tonks...I'm afraid FIGAS lost one about a week ago in a landing accident...Nobody was hurt but the aeroplane looks in a very sorry state
