Thanks for the all the positive comments guys.

I think my main aim for doing this was to find a way to showcase all the great models and repaints from the era so they could be seen (working) together as I recall them when I was a spotter/anorak. With my cheese and crisp sandwiches and my VHF radio I'd spend endless hours waiting for my last Spantax Cv990 only to be disappointed it was the same one as the morning flight!! I never could accept it has been all the way back to Spain and back again and all I've done is stand in the same spot for 7 hours - LOL...

All I've basically done is change the air file on the models to the default 737-400 or other AI aircraft and hacked around existing timetables from Retro AI or elsewhere - you can just substitute modern day timetables with period aircraft. I am now working on making some of my own fictitious flights for planes I want to see but have no timetables for.

Robin this has stirred the memories, great pics I like the first with the tridents lined up in the fog, I took a picture once very similar to that, many thanks for some great pictures they made my day brighter again
You will have to post your AI plans and how to do's etc as mnay many would love to re create these for their own enjoyment

I used to take lots of pics of aeroplanes in fog.

One day I cleaned the lens and they came out a lot clearer :think:

Tridents in the fog.

How come we all remember those?

What were we doing there in such weather?

I think I must have cycled up to EGLL in bright sunshine to find fog still hanging around at the airport, but then again it was a long time ago

And of course the TWA 707 at EGKK in the screenshot could have been one of those days - diverted there because of fog at Heathrow.

I've only flown by Trident once.. back in Nov '76.. and EGLL was very much fogged in then too! Some 2hrs later, I was stepping off the aircraft in Lisbon into bright sunshine (although the Portuguese were wearing overcoats!!) to begin a 2yr posting at Nato.

Makes you kinda wonder if the Trident was a consequence of those London fogs or the cause of them as since it went out of service, we don't seem to get anywhere near as many 'Pea Soupers' :think:

Cor! Fog! Sparks the old memories. I well remember Tridents and Vanguards and fog at LHR - and then all that other 'wingery' that dropped in when Luton/Gtw were clagged out
One eye on the RWR (was it ?)- and the other specifically assigned to watch for any 707/990/VC10 that might start taxiing. Could always get a couple away behind them Big Beggars if you were lucky - and they made it of course!
Eery place, LHR, fogged out; dark, big, brooding and almost silent out there on the ramp. And then one of those show off Tridents would drop in!
