I Must admit Ive never seen any pictures od Concordes khazi. Does it even have one? Cant be worse then those of a Dash 8 anyroad!

Erm, correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it mainly down to Air France that Concorde was taken out of service? So very nice that they are keeping one maintained, but if BA had their way they would still be flying anyway.

I would think that the demise of Concorde was down to Air France, probably just used the excuse of the tragic loss of Concorde plus the expense of having upgraded the safety of the aircraft being one point, then there was the excuse of running costs to keep it flying as commercial routings were, to my mind, far and few between to give Concorde a much wider scope for revenue.
That is my opinion but some may have other comments.

Thanks Nigel. I was confused, because the tone of the thread seemed to be how wonderful Air France was, and why BA was the big bad wolf. After all, it was Air France who told Richard Branson what to do with his offer to buy some of their fleet.

Sorry Nigel, but when BA were privatised, the books were balanced such that any other Concorde related costs were w/off and all 7(8) aircraft plus spares etc became the sole propertly of British Airways plc. All quite legit.

I appreciate that point Toby and indeed you are correct in what you say though as far as I am concerned it was still the taxpayer who bore a lot of the financial costs of Concorde. There again, that is only my own feeling!!
