A very good point Hinch
It does seem more likely that I'll continue to hang on to the old/current version for the foreseeable future and invest the FSX money into something more worthwhile.. like RC4

Well with the reports of D3D10 being a lot faster then D3D9, one can only hope when vista/DX10 comes out itl run a lot better.
Ill be keeping my old 6800GT @ U until NV's G80 or ATi's R600 hits the shelves

I for one won't be moving over to FSX. FS9 provides my needs, and if I want to play games with great graphics I will by a PS2 or XBox 360.

I'm not going to be getting FSX any time soon either.... my system can just about run ACOF without becoming a slide show, and the PC spec leap required for FSX is unjustified just to run a "game". When my PC is replaced or upgraded I might be able to persuade "dona patria" that she really does need a 512Mb graphics card to view her digital photos....
Another reason is because some of my favourite payware aircraft are from FS2002, patched for FS2004. Obviously they won't be patched again and I doubt that these aircraft will be built for FSX.

commercials about FSX? The latest makes FS out to be a "Game" and not to be mistaken for a simulator
Probably a direct result of the press' "connection" of FS with 9/11.

Phew! Thank heavens
somebody's getting a copy. Otherwise how will we know we can't run it?
I've already decided to wait until next summer when Vista and DX10 are settled in and get myself a new PC then. Hopefully the FSX decision will be a bit clearer when we see it running on Vista
I'm in no hurry - FS9 is great.

It's the same old story!
Do you remember FS2000?
Apparently a great step in flying simulation, but I was never able to use the full settings even with my actual PC!
I think that FSX it's another "faux pas", I prefer to wait the patch or the new OS Vista AND the next generation PC!

Personally I have ordered it and should have it by early next week, in time to spend my week off work getting it all sorted out!
The demo ran ok on my system, ok the sliders were not maxed out but I got good FPS with pretty good detail settings. I don't use AI traffic anyway so that's switched off.
Cheers,
