To be fair, I don't think we'd appreciate it if Easyjet bought BA, (even though financialy they could) so my sentiments are the same for Ryanair buying Aerlingus. Every country should have a national carrier, and not a jumped up kid who runs his airline like a scalectrix set.

Thats EXACTLY what I meant by scary - Of Course we live in a different
world in aviation - for almost 50 years No one in the US could conceive
that companies like Pan Am and TWA would go away - Pan Am was the
US's defacto flag carrier due mostly to Juan Trippe but its long gone
and the Carrier that everyone holds as the "model" these days is the
company that O'leary chose as the foundation for RyanAir - SouthWest!
Well I guess here in the states we will all wait to see if United and Delta
merge as is hinted and What Sir Richards franchise does when it starts
operation next year.....meantime the little airline with the odd name and
the half sun on the tail keeps adding MD80s to its fleet and new bases.
St Petersburg opens in November with 8 destinations
Sorry to get off thread and YES that was a plug for Allegiant
