The tunnel didn't really affect the hovercraft, which were always pretty full when I went on them, before and after the tunnel. However, age and maintenance costs did, and the inability to replace them, and they were sold about 5 years ago, much to my regret : both the train and the seacat are much slower

The tunnel didn't really affect the hovercraft
I regularly used the hovercraft on my ventures across the water. It was indeed quick, and with comparatively few cars on board, loading and unloading did not take long.

Not sure when we abandoned the hovercraft for the tunnel. Most likely after a particular journey in bad weather when after the normal allotted time for the crossing the captain announced that we were still off the coast of France and about to make a dash across the Channel.

Because of the bad weather, we had slowly travelled up the French coast to where the Channel was narrowest - my wife was devastated since she could just about cope with the quick dash across, but this was going to take forever. We did avoid any upchucking just about. But any nervousness about the tunnel vanished after that final hovercraft journey.

No it's not Rick's, would that it were!

And yes Rick I will beta test it for you

Actually it's something I found at FS Shipyards

Kind regards as always
