Classic British Flight Sim

For something modern and with a tricycle undercarriage why not try the Maule 760. Neither classic or British I know but a nice model with advanced avionics when you're ready for them, but easy to fly for the newcomer. Or at least more realistic than MSs Cessna.

Many thanks to Andy and Jon for those suggestions - they both look perfect for the job

I haven't got time to download today as the Boss has left me with a load of chores to be finished by the time she gets back from shopping :sad: Could be worse, I suppose - at least I didn't have to go shopping with her!

Well, for a Classic (just), British, basic trainer with tricycle undercarriage how about Tim Conrad’s excellent Scottish Aviation Bulldog MK1.

Having flown in a few Bulldogs whilst with the ATC I had to have this one in the hanger.

Even thought it’s a relatively old model it still looks the part and I’ve always found it fun to fly.

Guys - I've tried the Bulldog, The Maule and the RealAir 172 and also a Piper something-or-other that I found. If it was for me I'd keep both the Maule and the Bulldog which are both lovely, but I'm not really into GA - I like my big jets So considering my friend's needs, the winner is:

The RealAir C172. It uses the nasty little default C172 and puts an even crappier paint job on it than Microsoft did! But the flight dynamics are a joy and that's what matters most for this little experiment.
