What is the output from the device, ie what file format are you saving in and what video frame size?
For example that posted HS146 demo video is only 320 x 240 (NTSC VCD or 1/4 frame video).
For DVD you really need 704 x 576 (PAL). It may be that Nero is spending its time converting to the larger size, but it is just going to produce a poor quality DVD from a low resolution video capture.
If you can save from the device at PAL DVD size, try that (but in real time that may not be possible - there are some expensive add on cards that do that).

Ian,
I used the "PAL-DVD" format from the menu which gives me 720x576 and saves it as an MPEG file.
The Air UK 146 I resaved using Windows Movie maker so as to make it web-sized! I recorded that one in a different format as I onyl wanted to use that on the PC for the time being but since theres no sound, I'll be re-recording that anyway.
Basically, having got my MPEG file, I went to Nero to see how it could be burnt to the DVD, so I selected DVD video from the menu and proceeded to drag and drop the file onto the compilation and it complains that I cannot have a file larger than 2GB on an ISO compilation. Obviously somehow I need to get from the MPEG file to the filetypes you mention in your last post and thats what I am wondering about

Just dawned on me what the problem is - you can't just copy the MPEG file to the DVD.
First you have to create the DVD files on the hard disk and then copy those into Nero.
So you video program should (?) have a function that creates a DVD. Nero only burns the resultant files.
Ian
Edit: "authoring" a DVD is the correct term

Yeah I just figured as much from reading the FAQ on the Nero site. I'm not sure if Ulead VS will do it for me as it crashes out each time I try at 27%. Apparently I need a separate program by Nero called NeroVision

Have you played the MPEG to make sure it is ok?
Might be crashing because of a problem with video at 27%
Have you any smaller files just to see if it works - no need to burn the DVD, you can play it from the hard disk with PowerDVD, etc
Edit:
And you might want to look here
http://www.free-codecs.com/Software/DVD_Authoring.htm
partcularly DVD-Styler as freeware - it's worth a try to see if that crashes as well. If yes, then it is the source.

I havent watched it all the way through, but the bits I have watched are great. I might try a shorter video such the Air UK one and see if that goes to completion. Thanks for your help Ian
