Hi Chris

Rules ?

some members where still flying the triple7 and the F100s for every flight a week or so back ?.

Anyone can fly it as a 748 as there are about 8 in civil service in Africa
& the ICAO code or whatever is the same A748.

the HS.780 was certified for civil use and a few where operated in the UK but proved more costly to maintain and operate than a normal 748.
so they where not a common site civil wise.

Cargo capacity is only slightly better but short field performance is better and it's easier to load larger items.

Anyway it's built for fun and not sopecially for the VA anyway.

Regards
Rick

Rick, would there be any chance of a reduced poly AI model........or would this be a pain in the butt? :-#

No probs, as it will be great to see this aircraft, as I don't there's been one since FS98...........and that was a budgie in disguise.

Hi Steve

It's a possibility but it has to wait till last.

It's not possible to make a Lod type model automatically in FSDS
like you can in GMAX so it's not an easy task.

Rick

Cheers, mate.

I don't mind being last on the list.

At least you've taken the trouble to build it. Thank you.

To answer Mr Trott, when the RNZAF had finished using Andover C1's four aircraft were sold to a Belgian company, Eureka Aviation for use in Africa on UN contracts.

Serial Numbers

9Q-CYG
9Q-CDY
9Q-CJR
9Q-CYB

Therefore Eureka Aviation was a civilian Company and probably still is.

Great looking aircraft Rick, can't wait to fly her.

The HS.780 made it onto the British civil register as well.

Do you know who flew it Garry, or was it a leasing company?

FlyNET rules, not VA. FlyNET stipulates that for the aircraft to be available it had to be offered for sale direct from the manufacturer or operated by a civilian operator after conversion and certification by civil authorities. This is to prevent aircraft that are and were uncertifiable for civilian use from being used in FlyNET or using the military price for an aircraft when the cost to a civilian operator was actually much higher (due to conversion costs for civilian service).

I was not able to find this information in Google search. The posts below shows some light as to why, but we need a civilian cost to be able to set the price if it is to be added into the FlyNET database.
