I presume it's the first part of it's certification. It did 2 touch and go's followed by a full stop landing. The touch and go's were impressive to say the least.

It went out a couple of hours later.... used around 1/3 of the runway !

I've got photo's of it's 2nd touch and go and full stop landing and videos of it's first touch and go and take off. Quite an event I think.

Interesting event that CB, shows what the Airbus can do. Co-incidentally, that cock up a few weeks ago involving that Airbus, landing at a military airbase in Ireland in error. Has it taken off again? I know there were concerns that aircraft could'nt take off from the small runway or something?

I think it flew out the next day

I don't think there was a TO problem just a media hype problem

And to you Eddie

Yep.

I don't think it was reported as left as such but was seen at I think Liverpool shortly afterwards

Typical media they build up something out of proprtion and then just leave you wondering what happened.

Often it stopping that's a problem and I think most aircraft could t/o on any runway that they landed on.

On top of that it would have gone out as light as possible.

I think Ballykelly's runway is at least the same size, if not bigger than Derry's where the aircraft was scheduled to go to. I think the bigger problem would be making the disused runway suitable for the departure (ie, sweeping it!)
