I'm James, I'm 18, 19 at the end of july. I live in Tickhill near Doncaster and have done all my life. I'm currently doing a third year of sixth form at Edlington School and will be doing Aerospace Technology with Management at Hertfordshire uni next year. I've been into FS since 2002. I've also been a volunteer at the South Yorks Aircraft Museum since about then as well, about a year after that I also ended up getting involved with the Yorkshire Helicopter Preservation Group when they moved to Doncaster from Elvington. I worked with them on Whirlwind Mk1 XA870 which was the first project I did from start to finish and it won a transport trust award. My current project is a Cessna 150 (we are desperate for a set of mountings for an o-200 if anyone knows where we can aquire some for free/very cheap, we don't need the full engine brearer as we have some lycoming mounts we can chop up and bodge together).

Ooh I hate these tell all thingies but what the hey, it doesn't hurt to know who your're hanging around with so to speak!
I was born 1961, went straight from boarding school and joined the RAF in 1979. I subsequently spent 14 years flying types such as the Bulldog, Jet Provost, Hawk, Phantom and just prior to leaving the the RAF had converted to the Harrier. My last two years as a military pilot were not particularly happy ones :crying: and so that part of my life is now locked away forever, muhaha!
I am now involved with the Air Cadets and work as Lecturer in IT. I am married with children. My wife and I own a Fournier RF5 and fly whenever we can, children and finances permitting! My 17 year old son is an established glider pilot and went solo shortly after his 16th birthday.
Not much done in the sim flying world these days, I spend a lot of my free time making plastic model aircraft and belong to the IPMS.
Main reason for being here is the banter; I was introduced to the site by a former member, who sadly, is no longer with us. He was right though, you are a fine bunch of reprobates!

Born Nathan James Bialek at the City General Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. I am 29 years old, and still clinging to it as I am 30 this year. My passion for aviation began at a very young age with frequent trips to Manchester Airport with my grandparents. I can still remember watching Britannia 737's coming on runway 06, or 06L as it's known today.
In my teens I was a member of the ATC and had a few chippie experience flights, and then at 17 I used my savings to do my PPL in Florida. It was a four week course and I loved every minute of it. This was followed by my night rating and IMC. I started on the journey towards ATPL, but during my ground school course at PPSC in Bournemouth, 9/11 happened. Due to this and the knock on effect to the industry PPSC closed it's doors, and I never continued. I decided why spend more money for a job which has lots of experienced qualified pilots out of work.
Being off the course and out of work, I returned to my previous job at Manchester Airport as a flight dispatcher with Aviance Handling. I learned all aspects of weight and balance and aircraft turnaround. After two years I became restless and decided to jump ship, thinking of what else could be out there instead of aviation. So I became a physciatric nurse, but the pull was too much, and in January this year I made a move and returned back to aviation and Manchester Airport.
I was first introduced to FS back in the late eighties when a friend spotted a copy of Sublogics FS2 for sale in an Atari ST computer magazine. I thought it was fantastic, and still have fond memories of it, even with the technology we have today. This then progressed, after a few years, to a copy of Airbus A320 by Thailon, my first proper introduction to simulated commercial jet flying. I first encountered modern FS via FS98 which came with my first ever PC. I thought it was amazing and like many downloaded and purchased a number of addons. As new versions came out, so did my wallet.
Today though I have decided to stick at FS2004 for the time being.

What a great idea Fred.
OK, I'm Simon Priestley, 41(just!) born and bred Pontefract Yorkshire, studied Graphic Design at Lancaster Uni and managed to get myself sponsored by the Royal Navy to do so. They also sponsored me to get my PPL which was nice of them. Joined RN in 86, sailed the world till 91 when I left because they wouldn't let me go flying, however had lots of fun in Lynx, Seakings and Wasps. Claim to fame - was airsick in a FRADU Hunter T8(M) and was made to clean up the mess afterwards. Not easy getting carrot chunks out of dolls-eyes ...
On leaving RN, used my degree and went into graphic design, which is what I do now, running my own business (well, its better than working!)
First introduced to FS by my wife's stepdad, got myself a PC and FS98 and never looked back. Now simming on an Intel Mac - but increasingly never seem to get the time. Often visit these forums which to me are unique in that everyone seems to be genuinely nice, top blokes unlike the others where they seem to me to take it far too seriously. Only really post when I have something to say, which isn't often.
Have tried many times to build stuff, but always give up because I realise I've given myself yet more to do - so am in high admiration for the chaps on here who give us such great aircraft and scenery (and appear to do it effortlessly and with great modesty). Thank you gentlemen!
Now back to colouring in ... er ... sorry ... work.

A quick CV...
"Charlie", born somewhere in the early 80s. Went to school down south, then went to Uni up north (of Watford) and got my degree (and found that I really do hate exams - should've given them up at 18)... Anyway, was a UAS member, and my (apparent) flying ability and a couple of other things encouraged the powers that be to let me in to the RAF proper. Since then haven't looked back and have been blissfully (I wish) flying the Tucano (and paxing in a few other bits and bobs), and wishing that life contained fewer exams...
Don't have much time for FS anymore, unless it's something specific, such as Simshed's Tucano...

I'm Andy, and I'm an alcoholic ....whoops, wrong forum!!
Hi, I'm Andy, born 1961 in God's own country, Sarf London.

I moved back to London three years ago following divorce and a few rough years, after living for fifteen years in sunny Peterborough; Andyminx, nowt wrong with Oakham, damn sight classier than Peterborough.
Career wise, I've done all sorts of sales/customer service jobs. I'm currently working with with a start-up travel company, and also starting my own freelance web design business.
My interest in aviation began at the age of 4 when I spent a summer with family friends; in the skies overhead they were filming the Battle of Britain.

Hi All
I'm Dan, born the year 1966 on a cold 25th January in Denmark... My father was working for as an engineer and thus we traveled a lot in most of my youth, from where I grabbed my interest for aviation, and the VC10 in special...
After some rambling around I finally ended up as a civil engineer, and now works with nothing of what I'm educated in (!)...
I currently work in the IT-business at CSC, in the Airline Solutions department, developing the Internet Booking Platform for Scandinavian Airlines, amongst others.
I have a lovely wife, two kids, one of each, the son is the elder (8 years) the daughter is 6. A 3 yearold dog, a very old cat, two medium aged mice, and a wonderful house in the suburbs of Copenhagen.
This forum is by far the most interesting, educating, funniest, damned forum I'd ever come around, and I love it.
