Thanks v much Dave. Do the textures look crap when you are on the ground though?

As far as I can tell Chris.. they look no different to the default stuff.. you know, the big blurs that only become clear at altitude/distance. I'll try and find an example for you so that you can see for yourself

I took the pluge and purchased it. Had a quick look around London/Essex and I'm not that impressed. The colours look washed out and dull.

Sorry if I've come into this thread so late. I bought Ground Environment and was fairly unimpressed. It was a step up from the default FS terrain but didn't look anywhere near as nice as the freeware reality packs. I also suffered from horrendous "blocking" of textures when it was installed, with only a short distance around my aircraft being rendered, and everything in the distance being displayed as a fuzzy mess.

I know it's not meant to, but because some of the textures are 'common' my 'BEV' installation has improved my whole set up, inc the UK and they're working on specific European textures at the moment I believe.

The textures are a little better then stock FS9 but the autogen is far superior. Its far more dense and cities actually look like cities.

A bit late, but you can see what I mean here:

I can see the distant blurring problem I had in those screenshots, glad to know I'm not the only one. I think it is present all the time, for me it is just much more apparent with GE installed.

Chris..

I too have the distant blur problem despite the fixes. It's got better but still not as clear as the default. No gain without pain I suppose

But I don't think they will really answer your query

I did a flight last night across the UK and I'm getting used to them. From an altitude they do look pretty good but I still think the colours are a bit washed out and yep I've also got the blurry problem.

Thanks for the shots/comments chaps.
