Rich

I dunno why me - Spantax was a Spanish carrier they along with Air Spain did the majority of the bucket spade brigade stuff - Some one can correct
me - but wasnt Spantax the charter arm of Iberia???

And for your info Rich a couple of "dubious" US carriers flew the Convairs
One of which was Modern Air which ran them out of Berlin in the early 70s
Modern Air was of course owned by dear old Uncle Sams private army
The CIA - just for giggles can anyone tell me how many US Carriers
have been operated by Uncle Sugar over the years? and Air America
doesnt count its too well known :-$ careful how many you name lest
the MIBs come knocking on your door

Aviaco was the charter arm of Iberia

Spantax was Spanish Air Taxi originally with Beech 18's

They ran for many years on a shoestring but when more regualtions made things more difficult and a recession bit, they dissappeared up they own jetpipe.

There was at least one at Palma last year, but it didn't look as good as that photo.

I now have a purpose and will check when I go on my holidays there again in June

Edit: and to add to Garry's comment about Spantax, they worked their way through the standard European charter fleet - DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, DC-8 in addition to the Cv990.

Yea Ian

And ended up like everyone else with Boeing 737

They seemed to lose identity with the passing of the Convair.
