So sorry to hear that Mike, two years ago we lost our dog of 13+ years so we know what its like (his picture is still my avatar).

Less than two months later we ended up adopting two rescue dogs that helped a lot, but they were also 10 years old when we adopted them, I am quite fearful of what its going to be like when its their time.

We haven't decided yet.
Neither of us has many years left, so taking on the responsibility and risk of more loss if we adopt an older dog, is holding us back.
