Happy Birthday Kev, hope you've had a great da.....Oh wait, it's me isn't it. I nearly forgot!
Seriously, thank you all very much for the good wishes. Now, if you'll excuse me I've got a few cold beers to enjoy.

A belated Happy Birthday Kevin! This time I have a legitimate excuse - I had eye surgery on Wednesday.

Thanks, Nigel.
I'm always delighted and honoured that people wish me a 'Happy Birthday'. But more importantly, I hope everything went well with your surgery and that you are well on the mend.
Regards
Kevin

Thanks Kevin and Graham. It was cataract surgery in both eyes and went very well. Colours are far more vivid and I can see distances a lot better.

Nigel, congrats - I had both cataracts done last autumn. Quite a difference, isn't it!

It certainly is a big difference and I would have done it a lot sooner had I known it would make such an improvement.

Delighted to learn that both yourself and Paul have benefited from the cataract surgery.
Many years ago, I suffered an eye injury playing 5-a-side football (the ball hit me hard in the eye), which resulted in a stay in what was the Birmingham Eye Hospital (due to severe swelling of the eyeball). The next day, I was waiting in the day room to be collected by my Dad and there was an elderly lady having her bandages removed following cataract surgery. Her reaction was a delight to watch as she seemed so astonished at the difference and was almost in tears of joy.
