Hi Allan,
Hope that your dog is going better. It's such a drain on us when our pets are sick.

Thanks Mike. Ben is an ex-racing greyhound into his dotage now but still practising to be an Olympic Gold Medal winner at sleeping. He suffers a doggy form of IBS which cripples him and we have a set routine of immediate home medication followed by a trip to the vet for an injection. This sees him OK for a few weeks and then we go through the cycle again. Trouble is that each cycle seems worse and it is just a matter of time... :'(

We keep on thinking of another greyhound to keep him company but he has become used to being the only dog since his partner went last autumn, talk about rock and a hard place.

So we live for the day. He is fine now and awaiting his morning walk which is followed by 4 hours kip, lunch, pee, 4 hours kip, tea, walk P&P, kip, supper and then to bed for a good night's sleep. I kid you not, that is his routine and seems to the one that most ex-racers adopt. He is so laid back that he can't be arsed to meet visitors - they have to go to him. We have had workmen in the front room for half an hour before they realise that Ben is on the sofa - asleep! He will happily travel for hours in the car so long as it isn't in the direction of the vets
