How can I phrase this to be fair? Well FSXA & FSXSE (emergency "just in case" sim) will be staying on my HD for the foreseeable future and I am quite looking forward to what P3D do next.

I haven't bought this but it seems that the performance bug related to full screen mode that exists within P3D is also responsible for the same poor performance in FSW. Given that this was a known bug with the core platform I'm a bit surprised that Dovetail haven't addressed this prior to the early release build. Lockheed have implemented a work-around by effectively creating a pseudo full screen (windowed but looks like full screen) but have yet to resolve the issue in the core code.

My fear with FSW that 64bit or not (and it is) the issues deep within the core code effectively make this exercise a bit like putting lipstick on a pig. Good luck to them but they've not got off to a good start.

You'd obviously run a pub for far too long Dave. :)

That most certainly has a bearing on it. I'm used to smiling and saying 'hello madam, how can I help you?' while thinking 'good god.. what a bloody sight!

I didn't know about this bug, I use Pseudo FS all the time in FSX and yesterday found it works really well in FSW which is why I probably got really good frames in the 60's. I have a below spec Nvidea card 660Ti so that was good.

In truth though FSW has a long way to go, the area where I live, the Rockies are not jaggy but rounded more like the South Downs, so I wonder what LOD or Mesh res they use. And the graphics are just that bit too green and too blue, it's glaring. Makes it look cartoonish. I have seen better FS9 depictions of reality.

Flight models seem OK and no different to that in FSX.

Ultimately it hasn't piqued my interest to load it up again. Perhaps the early access (for me at least) was a bad idea, it would take a lot to wean me away from FSX and my considerable investment in hardware and software and cross over to this. To do that Dovetail would have to offer something really special and game changing and I cannot even envisage what that may be.

Are you running FSW on a 660ti I have a 760GTX and have held off as I didn't think my card was up to it.

Well, I got it. I know it's "Early Access", aka beta, but it seems it's a step backwards in just about every area.
Lighting / colours are off. FPS is OK-ish. Not as bad as some are reporting, but not as high as I would hope given there's practically no AI. Seems smooth though, which is the main thing.
FSX models can be imported with a bit of fiddling, but some things don't work (as I'd expect really). Interestingly, the included aircraft seem to be in FSX format, rather than re-compiled.

Shoe-horned a couple in just to play. ;)

I wouldn't really recommend buying at this time unless you want to support Dovetail and/or like having new things to fiddle with.
