If your having a hard time find FSXA, FSX-Steam is the same thing with very few changes, except it's a little more stable.

I was away from FS for a while also and when I can back I tried the latest version of P3D and found it fixed many if the issues that annoyed me about FSX and in general found it a much better platform. As long as you have the hardware to run it, it does require a more powerful system especially the video card. If your not certain about it, get a one month developers license and try it out yourself, it will only put you back 10$.

It feels like we are on the cusp of a bit of change in the land of flight sims. FSW which is dovetails new flight sim is probably based on FSX at its core but will have so many changes its going to be essentially a whole new sim. P3D is about to come out with V4 which is going to be 64 bit, but they are being very secretive about it so who knows how compatible it will be with older products. And of course X-Plane 11 is out now and its does appear to be quite an advance over the previous versions.

I have to say I'm intolerably annoyed at myself for having apparently deleted thousands upon thousands of pounds worth of payware. But hey-ho, I suppose there is more than enough in the way of freeware to go around.
