Caved!

Aircraft installed OK, but BlackBox Pre-Flight Manager did not, which is required to activate the product.

Blimey.. that was record time

Oh dear.. I thought Graham had got this licked! I'm sure an email will reap rewards but the additional hassle is certainly not required. I've been thinking about it too  Still have the Simshed model somewhere but not sure if it's worth blowing the dust off *-)

I've flown it in demo mode and given the restrictions of that I was still relatively impressed. I think once the install is fixed I'll be flying this regularly... reliving old times! :fly:

Sorry you've had such trouble.
Hope that you get your refund.
Incredible that commercial sellers can't get it right. :|

btw, as I'm going to Airshows Downunder in a couple of days, are there any particular photos that I could help with?
(I'm only a very average photographer, but there may be some detail of interest to you)
Cheers Mike - I couldn't really justify Avalon, since I will be across the Ditch at Omaka over Easter, and then to Scotland for the merry month of May.
Thanks for the offer

Dave, and FJ - I have requested a refund. Even that was not a simple task, as most of the links on the website return "404, not found" and the specific addresses for Sales etc just give me an advert for Gmail, instead of finding my existing Google log in page.
FJ reported on SOH Feb26 his install had been fixed.- i had seen that thread, and waited until Wed, thinking such a major fault in the installer would have been corrected by then.
I did eventually find where I could create an account (after a succesful purchase via PayPal), but that says there are no licences registered to me, and Serials Management won't let me do anything either. It did result in email demanding that I 'confirm my subscriptions' , even though I had not been told of their existence or offered the chance to refuse them.
To me the website faults and the installer mess speak volumes against the quality of their actual products.
Thanks for your info and suggestions.

Here is the direct download link for the BlackBox Pre-Flight Manager, which was causing the issues during install:

Rgr that Andy.

MikeW..
I'm both sorry and surprised by the problems you've encountered. I've had a lot of time for Graham Waterfield for years having been an avid fan of his Concorde, Vulcan and Dash8 sold then under the PSS and later Horizon banner. For him to be responsible for a both a shoddy website and poor installer is saddening. Given your problems.. I'd have been inclined to ask for a refund too.

Although I have Pre-Flight installed now I won't connect to register and activate my Bulldog.

I confess my irritation is building by the hour... but I thiiiiiink I'm willing to hold out a biiiiiit longer before requesting a refund... for now!

I've gotta say when so many other products work "out of the box" why not this one too?! Patience is a virtue, but the consumer is vocal and also votes with their feet at short notice these days. In light of that any company should know better.

Gentlemen ( and others)

Regarding the BlackBox SA Bulldog V2 installation Issues..

We have been just as frustrated as you have been over this .. its a rediculous situation caused pureley by Anti Virus software but we are trying our best to get around the issues

Explanation - Current AV Software is basically lazy... If it sees a New Encrypted Executable appear on the web it will simply mark it as a threat instead of actually scanning the file
I can assure you all that the files are 100% CLEAN and FREE from Virus, Malware or other infection and it is safe to turn off AV while you install

We also have a new installer ready here http://www.blackboxsimulation.com/index ... ort/files/ that should (we hope) clear the issues

For Further information regarding Activation - Please also see the Product Setup Guide PDF in the same location

However .. If anyone needs Individual assistance then that's why I registered here .. Just ask ok ?
We pride ourselves on a good reputation and I believe an exceptional Model and Support Service and I am here to prove this fact

Awaiting comments ..

Graham

Thanks for popping in Graham. Fingers crossed (for all concerned) this issue can be resolved swiftly

I've found that even the most mediocre AV (I use MSE and that's as mediocre as AV gets!!) will now cause install issues with software it happily had no problems with not that long ago. I beta test for a well known payware scenery producer and now have to suspend MSE's 'Real time' scanner while installing to guarantee a good install. I can download with it active but dare not install. Some dev's (Milviz for example) advise AV is turned off for both download and install. I'm not so happy with this as you never know what else is going to come down the line but I've got away with it thus far.
