OK Chris,
I think we have a winner from the three!
Bird & Rifle, and Girl Crush were quite reasonable.

Funny, about twenty years back, I was enjoying listening to several female singers.
When I mentioned it at work, the receptionist said: "What are you trying to tell us, Mike, you're turning into a lesbian?"
I was about 50 then, how old are you?

Glad you liked her Jon. I'd post some video links but I'm on the road in Iceland at the moment & it's a bit awkward on my phone.

If you fancy something different, check out the Lounge Kittens. Rock covers in 3 part harmony with a touch of humour. ;)

Gets a thumbs up from me also Dave. In Iceland eh - don't forget the chips :)

Oddly enough Mike I haven't yet heard those tracks and in answer to your question - a mere stripling at 58. :) Look up her album Massachusets.

The combination of two daughters and BBC 6 Music keep my 60 year old music tastes up to date. Last October, we went to see this lady, P J Harvey, performing at the Brixton Academy - here's a pic of her on the night:

Another band that I really like is Public Service Broadcasting, particularly their current album 'The Race for Space'

Here they are performing 'Go' ( about Apollo 11 ):

And here's the live version, again at Brixton Academy, and dedicated on the night to Gene Kranz. If you were alive in those heady days, it'll bring back some memories, and I think the Colonials here will approve.

I hear tell of an upcoming spiffy little combo hailing out of Liverpool going by the name of the Beetles. I don't reckon they will amount to much. Guitar based groups are on the way out. :hide:

On the subject of female singers, we enjoy listening to Loreena McKennit, not every day, but....

Anyway, she's from Canada, so Robbie and Alex have probably met her, filling up her snowmobile at the petrol station. :hide:
*-) mmm though she might go to the other petrol station, so you'd miss her.

Darn it Mike I must have missed her at the petrol station...umm I suppose that's cause we don't have one...come to think of it, the reason I've never listened to her on the radio is....we don't have one of those either!!!

The only music I get to listen to comes from "youtube", I never miss the "Edinburgh military tattoo" videos, and I really enjoy 2CHELLOS.
