I'm just starting to relearn the PR9, and apart from the pilot wearing a ski helmet, I think the model is gorgeous inside and out. I know that Just Flight publish a lot of models from other developers ( Aeroplane Heaven for instance ) but their own devlopment team created a thing of beauty with the PR9, IMHO. As for service packs, well, yes, in an ideal world it would be right from day one, but it hasn't been overly inconvenient to install them. I didn't get their Tornado, because the real-world aircraft doesn't interest me much, but it too looked very good and from what I know, the framerate issue was eventually resolved.
Anyway, the main reason I asked about the PR9 is because, as I say, I'm getting back into it, with a view to doing the RTW trip I've always wanted to do. It has good range and is speedy, so hopefully I can finish the flight before boredom sets in.

BTW, I really wish JF's
own team would do the Shackleton MR2 based at Coventry.

You never know.. JF/AH might make it one day. I can only imagine what a barrel of laughs THAT would be!!
It's on our list, not least because Skippy Senior was a looker on 893. Although it's recently come to my attention that most references have the length wrong which means most sets of plans are distorted to fit so a certain amount of research is needed before I can think about starting.

I have the flight manuals for the 1/2/D3 so I'd like to think they're accurate

They seem to be, essentially all the official publications give one length everything else e.g. Observers Book of Aircraft, most internet sites etc. give one about a foot longer.

Hmmm, telepathy... I was just wondering about the chances of FS doing a Sea Vixen and I come across this thread! Wierd!
I think it would be great to see a new one published, not least because Red Top and Firestreak are now available via TacPack. Aerosoft's Lightning uses these and I imagine (hope) JF's forthcoming Javelin will too... which just leaves the Vixen.
I'd like to see Flying Stations do it because based on the Buccaneer S1 & S2 you're the only ones I trust to properly model the operation of the radar... for me the role of the Observer in the sim is just as important as the pilot.
As it happens I may have access to a real Vixen cockpit and as a professional photogrammetrist I'd be happy to create high density point clouds for use as a reference in Max... no need to rely on secondary evidence from drawings... simply reverse engineer the primary evidence (i.e. the real thing)! I could do this for exterior (airframe) and interior (cockpits) if needed...

Somewhat randomly I'm also the owner of a Sea Vixen main gear leg... so there'd be no excuses for getting this bit wrong!
