Thanks Dave,
Now back to the Hawk. I wonder how it stacks up against the old now unavailable Skysim.

Dunno mate and I probably won't for a while. I see it's being discounted for a few days which is never a bad thing ;)

A Skoda! Mine belonged to my dad (it was his 3rd or 4th) and he always referred to it as the Czech Rolls Royce

Ah........... thanks for that. Not heard it called that before even though my wife has a one month old Octavia 1.6d estate. Incredible machine and puts my astra to shame.

Quite a bit of difference, I'd say.

My Skysim Hawk is offline at the moment. It was quite easy to fly and setup various animated options. Got bored with it after awhile.

The JF Hawk is a handful. No easy startup. You have to follow the procedure or else you can't lite the bird. Once you get airborne its all over the sky (for me) so it requires a very light touch. Out of my five flights so far, my first landing was really bad and I took too long on one startup that the back end was on fire. I'm still trying to master the communication and navigation panels.

The detail and immersion factor for the JF Hawk is well above that of the Skysim Hawk, but it seems there are some issues that may be addressed with a future SP. Either that or I will need to modify some of the aircraft parameters to control pitch and roll more realistically.

SP1 is available to download now. I've got to say it is a vast improvement on the original release. It is now a blast to operate and fly... this could become my default go-to fast-jet!

She certainly is, both inside and out. I've made some repaints, which might appeal to you Dave! They are for a brace of 3 Hawks (codes 840, 846 & 849) currently in service with the Fleet Air Arm at HMS Seahawk, part of 736 NAS (callsign "Satan"). They should be available at All Nodes in the near future, but in the meantime you can download direct from this link:

I'd appreciate any feedback...

Enjoy!

Navy paints will ALWAYS get my attention

Unfortunately.. I don't have the model to throw em on. Were there anything intrinsically wrong with Rick's model, I'd dive in and buy it but for me at least.. there's still plenty of life left in the Skysim Hawk ;) When the JF model appears in a sale for a ridiculous price.. I'll reconsider
