Cheers
Both DM and I have a shed load of shots taken on the day.. too many to upload here I'm afraid

SOP has changed since then too. The receivers would approach from behind and to the right as in the shots above. Both would then match the speed and gently drop back. Receiver #1 would move to the LH basket and receiver #2 to the RH basket. On completion.. both would move to the LH side and show off by accelerating up, up and away

All still works like this but they now join from the left.. from 'inside' the track. I'm sure it makes sense to them

I don't know whether this has been posted before: it's a video of a Tornado pilot having refuelling difficulties. Watch in HD - its a bit of nail biter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tuObaW6ZUc
Quick question ; why does the Tornado in the video have it's refueling probe on the right side, while those in Dave B's pictures have it on the left side ? Was it moved across in the F.3 because of the gun ?

I don't know the answer to that Paul but yes.. the F3 has always had it's probe on the opposite side.
Nige.. Tonks has been quietly busy doing stuff though he's not popped in the back door for a while.

Thanks for the update Dave,

thought I might have missed a few of his posts by not being regular here.
