Rob, what about your FSX.cfg ? Have you got all the vital tweaks in it ? They made a heck of a difference to my FSX performance, way back.

Tweaks are good, but can lead to worse performance if not used with caution.

I have no idea what the 'vital tweaks' are I'm afraid!

I used to be quite clued up with all things FS many moons ago, but am so out of the loop these days!

Yep, true, but aren't there a few essential ones, such as Himemfix=1 ?

You might not have to do all the stuff about making hidden system files viewable. Try finding the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX. first
