Thanks, George, ;) I've learnt quite a few bits during this thread.

Now I wonder why Joe's copy trails smoke on take off, while mine doesn't? *-)
I don't think it's to do with sim. settings in this case, because DaveB's reported Mosquito effect was clearly visible on my screen.

Joe, why not delete the sim object, then re-load from your zip?
Maybe a small glitch in the installation?

EDIT 23:21....
I added a , 3 to that line just to exaggerate the effect.
One take off gave a brief smoke cloud right on lift off, and I thought I was getting somewhere. So I reset the flight and took off again, no smoke at all.
Must admit that there's some appeal in the roar of those engines, and the way the aircraft chews up the thousands of feet once it gets wound up.
Trouble is, if you want to turn around, you need to be carrying a packed lunch to keep you going.

Hi Mike

I didn't get on the sim last night. I did have a look at the files though.
The folder contents in sim objects is the same as the freshly unzipped
Folder. No, installation per say. Just a copy and paste. You know.

Don't be afraid to go ahead and whip that puppy around now.

I find most aircraft have smoking tyres just taxiing above ten knots, heck ConcordeX even has sparks coming off the wheels (don't know if that is related to the brake fans though)

Okay, so back to this beast.

First thing about the smoke from tyres:
I wasn't up to speed before pulling the nose wheel off the runway. a little practice and I'm not getting the smoke all the time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 54By00mM7g

Although I sometimes do. and once, I managed to damage the nose gear --on take off ?

Also, It seams to be a bit on the brittle side when landing, anything more than the example in the video and It'll crash out.

NB 01/04/2015.........maybe not the best date to raise this one again, Joe :dunno:

I couldn't see any smoke on take off.
How did you manage to get the camera out of focus? It sorts itself out once off the runway, though. :)

I'm actually impressed with your last minute adjustment of that angled landing approach, dropped the nosewheel right on the white line. ;)

I'll now do some light reading, but don't hold your breath for a fix.

EDIT:
DAMAGE TO GEAR
OK, the "1100" is the max feet per minute allowed before the undercarriage is damaged. Either slow your descent, or increase this number to 1600 (for example)

SMOKE
This was discussed earlier....in [EFFECTS] you'll have a "touchdown=fx_tchdwn, 1" or similar.

TBH, I went for a pee during last night, and I don't turn on the lights once I've gone to bed. Some critter bit me on the side of the foot; stings like mad, and I lost sleep  . Also been to three meetings in three days, and I'm not firing on all cylinders tonight....so I'll leave it to you for now.
