I've learnt quite a few bits during this thread.
Now I wonder why Joe's copy trails smoke on take off, while mine doesn't?
I don't think it's to do with sim. settings in this case, because DaveB's reported Mosquito effect was clearly visible on my screen.
Joe, why not delete the sim object, then re-load from your zip?
Maybe a small glitch in the installation?

I added a , 3 to that line just to exaggerate the effect.
One take off gave a brief smoke cloud right on lift off, and I thought I was getting somewhere. So I reset the flight and took off again, no smoke at all.
Must admit that there's some appeal in the roar of those engines, and the way the aircraft chews up the thousands of feet once it gets wound up.
Trouble is, if you want to turn around, you need to be carrying a packed lunch to keep you going.
