I also have the twin & the single Leonides sound files. Have had today an e-mail from Gary Jones, saying he lost the majority of his sound files a couple of years ago, so he is happy for us to use/upload as you wish.
Hope you get good use out of my model, & hope it gets somewhere near reality for you.
Are you using FS9 or FSX? some commands do not work in FSX IIRC, like getting rid of surplus pilots.......
I will happily upload to Hightail for you if you PM me your e-mail address.

Rohan,
Thanks, Ro that's very kind of you. If there is something you can email, my museum address is projectsATtangmere-museumDOTorgDOTuk with the usual substitutions for AT and DOT.

DaveB,
As usual Dave you're being far too modest - your Portsmouth scenery for the Lightning sim is always greatly admired and looks stunning in P3D v1.4. I'm changing it to P3D v2 this winter and I suspect it'll look even better.

Dev One,
If the Provost goes just on our general sims Keith, they run under FS2004 in kiosk mode. If it's used in the Provost cockpit it'll be P3D v1 (we'll have a spare pro licence for that when I change the Lightning sim to P3D v2). In that case I'll only need the sounds, flight dynamics and external scenery view so missing commands in FSX probably won't be a problem.

Thanks for all the help.
Pete

Yes, Eric, I knew exactly which forum to come to first for this sort of help.

Peter,
Not sure how the Provost responds in P3D, it was only designed for FS9. If it works in P3D then good for you, but you might have a prop problem if DaveG's experience with my latest Beta is anything to go by. If you do have this problem I would be willing to make you a special model, but not having P3D myself it will be a pure guess. Also if there are any inconsistencies between my model & your cockpit I will also modify for you.
Regards
Keith (ex 1075 sqdn ATC, donkeys years ago.......)

Hi Keith,
Oh, dear am I being dense here? Are you Keith Paine, the creator of the Provost? If so, sorry for being so slow on the uptake - it's an age thing! :wall: Anyway, thank you for the offer of help with model changes if needed - it's very much appreciated.

On the technical side, I thought I saw when I downloaded it that the Provost was for "FS2004 and FSX" (although I could have imagined that) which is why I assumed it would be OK in P3D v1. We run our general simulators on FS2004 in kiosk mode so it would work well there but there are a number of reasons why FS2004 would not be suitable for a multi screen simulator as the Provost cockpit would be.

Either tomorrow or Friday I'll set the Provost up in P3D v1 and see what happens. The museum's simulator group will be meeting next Thursday (25 Sept) when the decision as to whether the cockpit will become a simulator will be made - I'll let you know what happens but even if it's a 'no', we'd still like to use the Provost on our FS2004 sims if that's OK with you.

Thanks again.
Pete

That makes perfect sense Pete. With so few piston Provost's around, it would be nice for the punters to see what one looks like 'complete' and in the environment it was meant for

Incidentally.. I found 2 versions on my old XP machine this afternoon (while looking for the Single_Leonides soundpack. I'll have to find them again to find out which one is the newest

What a beauty, Pete. I'm sure that all your visitors will be very impressed.
I won't cut across what Ro's doing re .cfg, but on my copy, the left and right sounds are both across L & R channels, so presumably the single just eliminates the second start up & shut down.

That's how it looked to me Mike but I've never had any dealings with a sound.cfg before. :dunno:

Looking in the twin leonides file there are listed right & left engines, so I would imagine that there is some stereo effect introduced, anyway I shall try to upload the single leonides soundfile to Hightail Pete, having now received your e-mail. Hightail will send you an e-mail giving you the link address. I will do likewise as insurance. Will do so GWWP this morning, will also include DaveB. The link will be active for 7 days from upload.

PS Pete, memory fade - Yes recognise it well after 76 years!!!
