Hi Ben :)

I dunno about that mate. I see (generally) poor download speeds from FSS which is one reason why I avoid them unless it's necessary. When I say poor.. I'm talking 37-45KB/Sec which makes a lowly 90-odd mb a chore. By comparison, the C90 came down at a steady 680+ from JF last night and I've seen a high of 703 from them :-O Not bad for overhead wires ;)

Good luck with this attempt

4th time Lucky now  Only another 5 hours to go. I'm tempted to take the laptop and drive around the streets trying to find someone with open WiFi and a fibre connection!

DG, the more I think about it, the more I think there is an overarching problem with Reflections in P3D2.

TBH, I don't mind the reflections in P3d. I rarely fly at night so the star issue isn't much of a problem for me.

Tried some other sets today. Some are better than others, but I think the main problem is you really need to crank up your settings in P3d to see the textures at their best, which in turn leads to other performance issues. Lower the quality settings in P3d and/or the REX configuration program and they don't look great to me anyway.

One thing that I think could be done better is the themes. You can define and save a theme set, but as far as I can tell it must be a complete set. So you can't define clouds and water, but leave the runways as default, for example. You can manually load individual types, but it's a pain if you want to go back to default for something. The configuration program doesn't keep track of what's installed either.

Hi chaps,

I've just installed it and I'm pretty happy with the clouds and water. I've set all of the textures in REX 4 to 1028 at the moment, but took your advice a ramped the texture size in P3D2 up to 4096. It seems to work well, but I'm not sure how it will cope at a busy Heathrow :worried:
