Certainly plenty to choose from there :)

No.. you're right to point him to Britsim as I'm sure he wouldn't want all the ones in the VA section. I have 66 paints in my FS9 Rapide folder and 10 of those must be 'Islander' registrations. Tom will only need 1 but that still leaves him plenty of scope ;)

Thanks for the pointer to your VA repaints Dave, which I wasn't previously aware of. Great stuff and they fill some of the notable gaps (G-AIDL, G-AGTM etc) where there was surprisingly no FS9 repaint.

Good job I can never resist looking at Rapide threads

My repaint tally on the Rapide is now:

v2 - 64
v3 - 68
v4 - 29

it's getting so complicated remembering which ones are where that I've had to put everything on a spreadsheet by construction number

Cheers,

Ade

No problem Ade  The Rapide is still one of my favourite FS models which is hardly surprising as it's one of my favourite aircraft of all time ;)

Yes, it's by far my most flown type in flightsim and I've used Dave G's model since FS2002. Every version was ahead of its time and V4 is absolutely stunning. I must get on with a few more repaints for it to follow up my G-AHKV AA scheme.

I love anything by de Havilland but the Rapide is particularly beautiful and classy. The flight I had in TM a couple of years ago is an experience I'll never forget. Absolutely magical. :)

If you haven't seen it already, have a look at the Rapide episode of "Classic British Aircraft" which runs on the Discovery channels. Packed with great in-flight and cockpit footage plus reminiscences from pilots and ground crew past and present.

I've been flying some of your VA fleet this morning and they're perfect for taking in the glorious summer views of Earth Simulations' awesome island sceneries. :welldone:

Cheers,

Ade

I actually have that series on dvd which is a bonus as I don't have discovery

Incidentally.. the panel I did which first saw light with the v2 model is based on phots I took inside AIDL. DG has since honed it to a very fine VC as seen in v4 so.. next time you fly DL, you're pretty darned close to seeing what the pilot see's in the real one ;)
