Remember seeing the Memphis Belle film aircraft at Duxford in 89. 5 B17's, 3 Buchons and 7 P51's, not to mention B25 Dolly, an Avenger camera ship and the Tigercat.
Those were the days.
They did the Paris Island scenes at Bassingbourne and Swinderby. The Da Nang scenes were on the Isle of Dogs.

Plus other places - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093058/loc ... de=desktop

All the ground scenes for "Memphis Belle",including take off and landings, were filmed at Binbrook. For the flying sequences, Duxford was the base of operations.

Wasn't the pilot of the `Belle` also in the film FMJ as the reporter?

Wooly Bully,
One of our favourites at The Thumping Tum discoteque, before they became "discos".
We have it on CD, and I still love it! :agree:
