I thought the button on the stick toggled a set of skis, at least according to a thread over at Sim Outhouse when it was released. I don't have my PC on at the moment so can't check.

It does look to have a fairly stiff ground handing though.

Also, reviewing the SOH forum thread, I see nothing mentioned of the handling issues you posted, so I'm wondering if there's not something else going on with your system that's causing the issue?

Funny.. I've just finished having a play in this at the lovely Friday Harbor with snow The button on the stick does display ski gear Also.. if after you've taken off, you hit the gear button on your stick (or G of course).. the nose down inclination stops and she climbs without having to trim One does need to remember to hit the gear button again for landing mind you but if you have detect crashes turned off, this doesn't appear to matter. It certainly didn't go on it's belly when I tried it just

Just thought I'd pop back and say I've put the update mentioned above on the model and it does remove the gear problem and possibly a few other minor oddities.

I spent the evening mucking around with this & now have come to the conclusion that you need about 8 deg. up elevator trim in order to start on a level keel ( on my kit at least ) Dial that in and you'll have relatively level flight with no back pressure needed on the controls at the 113 kts. maueuvering airspeed mentioned on the sticker on the panel, then adjust the trim up or down around that figure depending on airspeed and flaps setting in order to get it flying as expected.

Bit odd, but it works for me and my amateur skills , cheers

What is the effect (if any) of changing the passenger load (if one can)?

Although I can't recall seeing any more than the pilot onboard, there IS a passenger occupying the opposite seat in the cfg. They wouldn't have put it there to balance the model out would they? I know it's only a little farting thing but the pilot on his own shouldn't upset it too much

If you read the Flight report it talks about having ballast fitted fore or aft depending on passengers. It sounds as if the real a/c is trimmed for two up but runs out of trim otherwise hence the ballast, so it sounds as if the .cfg &/or the .air file need a bit of a tweak. I know I had to play with the figures to get my Planet Satellite to cope with the C of G range.
