Have you tried the updated Valiant from Derek, Lars and myself? I know that Derek did a lot of work altering the flight dynamics.

Certainly is. Just reaquainted myself with it and it is pretty ponderous.

Not one of my better sound efforts though, should really have another go at it.

Thanks Nev The original went like a fighter and yet couldn't hold an ILS PhilP said it wasn't him and gave me Michael Davies who wasn't really au fait with this sort of thing but made it a whole pile better Primarily, it'd be for AI use I think mate so sounds (for me) aren't that important though I'll certainly give it a run

EDIT: I don't think I'll be flying it any time soon I'm afraid but I'm sure it will appear as AI

No offence intended to anyone, including those wjho have modelled it, BUT
IMHO the Valiant looked like something out of the 1930's, very pedestrian and
I always rated it 3rd out of the three V-bombers for appearance.

It almost was...... I did my RAF electricians training in the mid-60's and the Valiant was a museum piece even then. It was known as the electricians nightmare with the only hydraulic control on the aircraft being the brakes and steering gear, however the hydraulic pumps were electrically driven. Even the gear was electrically actuated!

I have to agree with you Mike and Brian's recollections bares this out Vickers DID come good with the VC10 but it has to be said, they've made some less than pretty aircraft in their day One of our members, Paul Gausden (not the current one) flew both the Valiant and Victor and he has very fond memories of both. I think they realised there'd be problems with the Valiant in 'low level' ops but perhaps not to the degree which happened. He flew the Victor during the Falklands war and this was the first time he'd flown with INS.. courtesy of the ex-BA VC10 fleet. I met him years ago at my last pub but haven't heard anything for a long time now. He was well retired by then and had just moved to Abingdon. His last job in the RAF being CO of one of the VC10 squadrons. You had to be a Squadron Leader to be Captain of a VC10 in those days

I really need to get my head round AI stuff!! Which F3 is that? It looks very good.

In my RAFv days I flew the F3 for them and loved it. They even made me OC111 Sqn!!! Foolish!
